In this interconnected world that we live in, it is difficult to take a step away from work. Emails shoot back and forth and we are inundated by information everywhere, 24/7. We hardly lift our bottoms from our office chairs because the emails just keep coming. At home, the emails flood our phones and we can’t help but check our office emails even at home. It seemed like the right thing to do. It is impossible, we think, to make the conscious decision to relax or get active. There are just not enough hours in the world.
Sounds familiar?
Well, that’s usually the same attitude we have towards heart health. Adopting a healthy lifestyle takes a little extra effort and conviction from us. We find it too troublesome to take a stand so we get buried in the workload. We are convinced that we can’t escape from sinking into the bottomless pit of emails.
But is being heart-healthy really that difficult?
The red dress is the symbol of Go Red For Women, an international movement for women to band together to fight cardiovascular disease (heart disease and stroke). In fact, cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women in Singapore – with one in three women falling prey to this silent killer. But the fact is, cardiovascular disease is mostly preventable through the simple choices we make every day.
So ladies, let’s do our heart a favour.
EMPOWER YOUR HEART.
GO RED FOR WOMEN!
